May 9 - 10, 2023 - Bordnetzkongress Ludwigsburg

Review of the participation and presentation at the Bordnetzkongress Ludwigsburg on May 9 and 10, 2023

For almost 11 years, the international "Automotive Wiring Systems" congress has established itself as an important meeting place for managers and experts along the entire value chain. In addition to professional exchange and strategic discussions, networking is the main focus of the event.

AAS4WH had already recognized last year that the Automotive Electrical Systems Congress offers an excellent opportunity to network within the automotive electrical systems community and share new knowledge. This year, AAS4WH was represented with its own presentation and an exhibition booth.

The presentation by Georg Schnauffer and Christian Kosel, both subject matter experts from the AAS4WH consortium, addressed the topic of interoperability in the field of vehicle electrical systems and provided a practical demonstration of how this can be implemented in practice. A specially developed demonstrator showcased forward-looking concepts and used a crimping process to illustrate how, through the use of standardized digital twins (management shells), relevant information can be exchanged and further enriched during production.

AAS4WH ’s own exhibition booth enabled the experts to engage in in-depth discussions throughout the entire duration of the conference and to gain valuable insights into the automated development and production of wiring harnesses.

AAS4WH draws a positive conclusion from its participation in the Automotive Electrical Systems Congress and thanks all visitors, partners, and organizers for the interesting discussions and the opportunity to exchange knowledge.

April 17–21, 2023 – " AAS4WH " at Hannover Messe 2023

Wire Harness ARENA2036 presented the project “Asset Administration Shell ” ( AAS4WH) at the 2023 Hannover Messe with its own exhibition booth. The highlights of the booth were the large, mounted Wire Harness, the sample administrative trays, and a real Wezag crimping machine used as a demonstrator for an administrative tray workstation.

Our stand was in good company in Hall 8 - literally a stone's throw away from the Plattform Industrie 4.0 stand, the stage of the "Forum Industrie 4.0" and the Smart Factory. The project met with great interest from visitors and enabled us to get many visitors excited about the Asset Administration Shell .

The aim of the demonstrator is to illustrate the use of the Asset Administration Shell in a fundamental production step - the crimping process - in the area of the wire harness. The demonstrator shows how the administration shells can be integrated into the crimping process and how the administration shells can interact with an MES application and store floor monitoring: Administration shells, both for the individual components of the crimp contact and the wire as well as for the automatic crimping machine, which writes the process data directly back into the Asset Administration Shell , were created.

Not only the demonstrator, but also several representatives of the consortium partners contributed to the success of our trade fair appearance. Our thanks go to the representatives of Coroplast, Dräxlmaier, Kromberg & Schubert and Wezag. They and many others had worked intensively on preparing the demonstrator in advance.

For anyone who was unable to attend the Hannover Messe: The " AAS4WH" consortium will host its third virtual project conference on May 25—during the morning, you’ll receive a comprehensive overview of the entire project and all the latest findings. To register, visit www.arena2036.de/AAS4WH.

May 30 – June 2, 2022 – " AAS4WH " at the 2022 Hannover Messe

After a two-year interruption of the Hannover Messe in its usual form, this year the gates of the trade fair in Hanover were finally reopened to trade visitors and interested parties. Every year, the latest technologies and innovations relating to industrial transformation are presented at the industrial trade fair.

A premiere was celebrated at the Industry 4.0 platform stand in Hall 8: In addition to already established projects, new projects from the economic stimulus package 35c were also presented - including the "Asset Administration Shell for the Wire Harness".

During the four days of the trade show, visitors to the booth were able to take a close look at the Wire Harness Mercedes C-Class, complete with sample management sleeves. The challenges facing the wire harness industry in terms of digitalization and automation were key topics of discussion. In addition to the expert presentations at the BMWK booth and on the Industry 4.0 Platform stage, the days at the Hannover Messe were marked by many engaging conversations.

We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to the partners of AAS4WHfor their close collaboration on the demonstrator, for providing data, and for making the tools and materials available. We would also like to thank the Industry 4.0 Platform and the BMWK for giving us the opportunity to present our project and for allowing us to have such a wonderful experience.
