Review of the participation and presentation at the Bordnetzkongress Ludwigsburg on May 9 and 10, 2023
For almost 11 years, the international "Automotive Wiring Systems" congress has established itself as an important meeting place for managers and experts along the entire value chain. In addition to professional exchange and strategic discussions, networking is the main focus of the event.
Last year, AAS4WH was already able to establish that the Wiring Systems Congress offers an excellent opportunity to network within the wiring systems community and transfer new knowledge. This year, AAS4WH was represented with its own presentation and an exhibition stand.
The presentation by Georg Schnauffer and Christian Kosel, two experts from the AAS4WH consortium, dealt with the topic of interoperability in the field of vehicle electrical systems and illustrated how this can be implemented in practice. A specially developed demonstrator showed forward-looking concepts and used a crimping process to illustrate how relevant information can be exchanged and further enriched during production through the use of standardized digital twins (administration shells).
AAS4WH 's own exhibition stand enabled the experts to hold intensive discussions throughout the duration of the congress and to gain important impetus for the automated development and production of wire harnesses.
AAS4WH draws a positive conclusion from its participation in the Bordnetzkongress and would like to thank all visitors, partners and organizers for the interesting discussions and the opportunity to exchange knowledge.

ARENA2036 presented the project "Asset Administration Shell for the Wire Harness - AAS4WH" at the Hannover Messe 2023 with its own exhibition stand. The highlights of the stand were the large stretched Wire Harness, the exemplary administration shells and a real crimping machine from Wezag as a demonstrator for an administration shell workstation.
Our stand was in good company in Hall 8 - literally a stone's throw away from the Plattform Industrie 4.0 stand, the stage of the "Forum Industrie 4.0" and the Smart Factory. The project met with great interest from visitors and enabled us to get many visitors excited about the Asset Administration Shell .
The aim of the demonstrator is to illustrate the use of the Asset Administration Shell in a fundamental production step - the crimping process - in the area of the wire harness. The demonstrator shows how the administration shells can be integrated into the crimping process and how the administration shells can interact with an MES application and store floor monitoring: Administration shells, both for the individual components of the crimp contact and the wire as well as for the automatic crimping machine, which writes the process data directly back into the Asset Administration Shell , were created.
Not only the demonstrator, but also several representatives of the consortium partners contributed to the success of our trade fair appearance. Our thanks go to the representatives of Coroplast, Dräxlmaier, Kromberg & Schubert and Wezag. They and many others had worked intensively on preparing the demonstrator in advance.
For all those who couldn't make it to the Hannover Messe: The AAS4WH will be hosting the third virtual project conference on May 25th - here you will receive a complete overview of the entire project and all current results during the morning. To register, see AAS4WH
After a two-year interruption of the Hannover Messe in its usual form, this year the gates of the trade fair in Hanover were finally reopened to trade visitors and interested parties. Every year, the latest technologies and innovations relating to industrial transformation are presented at the industrial trade fair.
A premiere was celebrated at the Industry 4.0 platform stand in Hall 8: In addition to already established projects, new projects from the economic stimulus package 35c were also presented - including the "Asset Administration Shell for the Wire Harness".
During the 4 days of the trade fair, interested visitors to the stand were able to take a close look at the Wire Harness of a Mercedes C-Class with exemplary administration shells. The challenges facing the wire harness industry with regard to digitalization and automation were particularly important topics. In addition to the specialist presentations at the BMWK stand and on the stage of the Industry 4.0 platform, the days at the Hannover Messe were characterized by many exciting discussions.
We would like to thank the partners of AAS4WHfor their intensive collaboration on the demonstrator, the provision of data and the tools and materials provided. We would also like to thank the Plattform Industrie 4.0 and the BMWK for the opportunity to present our project and to have such a great experience.
