Wire Harness - Automation & Standardization

The wire harness industry is facing the challenge of designing ever more complex wiring systems efficiently, sustainably and cost-effectively. The research focus "Wire Harness - Automation & Standardization" supports this change by promoting cooperation between industry and science. The focus is on the automation of wire harness production, robotics, the standardization of components, the use of sustainable materials and digital solutions for mapping the product and production processes in the digital twin.

Thematic priorities within the research focus area
Automation of wire harness assembly
Standardization through the SILS initiative
Green wiring system through reduced resource consumption
Digitization of production
Objective

The research focus "Wire Harness - Automation & Standardization" supports the transformation process of the wiring systems industry by facilitating the exchange between industry and research and bringing new technologies and innovations to the industry. All relevant players in the industry - from automotive manufacturers and assemblers to component, machine and software manufacturers - benefit from this knowledge transfer.
