Digital twin of a building using the example of ARENA2036

The digital twin of ARENA2036 shows the path from conception to a living system that is in use today. It all started with a vision: to create a virtual representation of a building that is more than just a model—a tool for research, collaboration, transparency, and everyday work. Step by step, a structure was developed in which sensors were embedded and data flows established, until a digital twin was created that is connected to the physical space in real time.

Below, we show various approaches and methods with different degrees of maturity and depth of detail for transferring a real (factory) building into the virtual world and the activities required to keep the digital twin alive.
