ARENA2036’s Industrial Metaverse at the Immersive Future Convention in Stuttgart
On June 26, 2026, the CYBERLÄND FUTUROMUNDO Immersive Future Convention took place at the Haus der Wirtschaft in Stuttgart. The event focused on topics related to XR, AI, spatial media, digital twins, and the future of immersive technologies.
As part of the program, the ARENA2036 real-world lab contributed the industry’s perspective on how metaverse technologies are transforming industry, research, communication, and society through its presence in the Experience Area, participation in a masterclass, and a panel discussion on stage:
- Experience Area: Booth of the ARENA2036 Industrial Metaverse Real-World Lab, as well as ARENA2036 members FARO Insight, Haptive, and Collectu
- Master Class “Industrial Metaverse Real-World Lab” in collaboration with Fraunhofer IAO, Fraunhofer IPA, and the Film Academy BW / Carl Laemmle Institute
- Closing Panel “What Comes After Immersion?” with Stefanie Bagehorn (vm-people) and Dr. Frank Dürr (acameo); moderated by Claudia Brüninghaus
The flagship event for cross-innovation presented concrete use cases in the field of digital twins to accelerate innovation, increase efficiency, and develop new business models.
The focus was not on technical gimmicks or short-term trends, but on concrete applications, decision-making questions, and future prospects: How are metaverse technologies changing work, learning, communication, and value creation? What opportunities are emerging for companies, institutions, and society? And how can new technologies be used responsibly and effectively?
The program combined a stage program featuring keynotes, talks, and best practices with in-depth masterclasses, as well as an Experience Area where technologies were not only discussed but could also be experienced firsthand. Speakers included Dr. Nicole Hoffmeister-Kraut, Minister of Economic Affairs, Labor, and Tourism for the State of Baden-Württemberg; Dr. Andreas Schwarz, Chief of Staff to EU Commissioner Ekaterina Zaharieva; Gabriel Becker, Head of Public, Defense & Security at Schwarz Digits; Felix Obschonka, Head of Engineering at LEGO Education; and Dr. Laura Hirvi, Public Policy Manager at Meta.
