May 8, 2025: Virtual Worlds—Discover Opportunities in the Metaverse
At the Hanns-Martin-Schleyer-Halle & Porsche-Arena in Stuttgart on May 8, 2025, visitors to the ARENA2036 stand were able to gain insights into our Industrial Metaverse real-world laboratory and immerse themselves in the virtual age at first hand using practical use cases.
Visitors were able to take a virtual 360° tour of the ARENA2036 shop floor, which offers an immersive experience of the ARENA2036 shop floor as well as special projects and key research areas. Wearing VR headsets , they could immerse themselves in this new world and explore it. In this demo environment, visitors can discover how the real and virtual worlds can be linked—in a practical, tangible, and interactive way. Taking it a step further is the capture of the real world using laser scanning technology: based on a 3D point cloud , the virtualization of the ARENA2036 building was demonstrated as a foundation for use cases such as plan-vs.-actual analyses, factory planning, or facility management. Last but not least, there were exclusive insights into the 3D modeling of the building twin in Omniverse, which serves as the basis for collaboration in the real-world lab on a shared technology and integration platform. Additionally, Transfer-X demonstrated its AR Experience Mission Dataspace, which enables users to immersively experience use cases from data rooms, using the examples of Product Carbon Footprint (PCF) and supply chain resilience.

Another highlight was the panel discussion “Industrial Metaverse Meets Real-World Lab—The Potential of a Joint Sandbox Approach” at 1:30 p.m., during which various representatives discussed the opportunities and added value of participatory innovation processes in the digital space.
