May 8, 2025: Virtual worlds - experiencing opportunities in the metaverse

At the Hanns-Martin-Schleyer-Halle & Porsche-Arena in Stuttgart on May 8, 2025 at booth B11, you could experience the future of the metaverse up close. The event was aimed at specialists and managers, start-ups, students, school pupils and anyone who wanted to immerse themselves in the virtual age. Admission was free.

Visitors to the ARENA2036 stand were given an insight into ARENA2036's Industrial Metaverse real laboratory. They could look forward to a virtual 360° tour of the ARENA2036 store floor, which makes it possible to experience the ARENA2036 store floor as well as special projects and research focuses immersively. Using VR glasses , you were able to immerse yourself in the new world and explore it. In this demo environment, you can explore how the real and virtual worlds can be linked together - in a practical, tangible and interactive way. Capturing the real world using laser scanning technology goes one step further: a 3D point cloud was used to demonstrate the virtualization of the ARENA2036 building as the basis for use cases such as plan-actual analyses, factory planning or facility management. Last but not least, there were exclusive insights into the 3D modeling of the building twin in the Omniverse, as the basis for collaboration in the real laboratory on a common technology and integration platform. Furthermore, the AR Experience Mission Dataspace from Transfer-X was also demonstrated, which allows use cases from data spaces to be experienced immersively, using the examples of product carbon footprint (PCF) and supply chain resilience.

Highlights at the ARENA2036 stand at a glance:

  • Presentation of our 360° tour of the ARENA2036 store floor, using VR glasses to present special projects and research focuses.
  • The 3D point cloud to visualize the fusion of physical and digital elements and offer new perspectives on industrial processes.
  • Exclusive insights into the modeling of the building twin in the Omniverse
  • Preview of an application scenario with digital twins of robots and machines
  • AR Experience Mission Dataspace from Transfer-X

Another highlight was the panel discussion "Industrial metaverse meets real-world lab - potential of a joint sandbox approach" at 1:30 p.m., in which various representatives spoke about the opportunities and added value of participatory innovation processes in the digital space.
