Germany's Innovation Hub at re:publica 2026

What will shape our society tomorrow is taking shape today in Germany’s innovation clusters. At re:publica 2026 in Berlin, leading cluster and campus initiatives will come together for the first time to demonstrate how innovation actually takes shape in Germany—in an interdisciplinary, application-oriented, and networked manner. Under the motto “Germany’s Innovation Engine Room,” initiatives from the Federal Ministry of Research, Technology, and Space (BMFTR) are joining forces to showcase their success stories. The goal of this joint presentation is to make Germany’s strength as an innovation hub tangible and to accelerate the transfer of research into practical applications.

Innovation thrives through collaboration

The participating clusters and research campuses combine scientific excellence, economic strength, and social perspectives. They create spaces where new technologies and work models are developed, tested, and put into practice. “While there is frequent discussion about Germany’s capacity for innovation, innovation has long been taking place—in the country’s clusters and research campuses,” according to the initiatives’ joint message. “This is where research becomes concrete application.”

ARENA2036 as part of the innovation network

We, too, are part of this strong network and are contributing our expertise in the development of future production and mobility concepts to our joint presentation. At the joint booth (Booth M2), visitors will have the opportunity to speak with us directly and gain insights into current research and development projects on May 20 from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Joint appearance at Europe's largest digital conference

From May 18 to 20, 2026, a total of 22 cluster and campus initiatives will be showcasing their work at re:publica. The joint booth invites visitors to engage with experts and offers insights into specific projects in fields such as sustainable industry, new mobility solutions, health research, and hydrogen technologies.

A particular highlight will be the panel discussion on May 19 from 11:15 a.m. to 11:45 a.m., during which representatives from the political sphere and industry clusters will present Germany as an innovation hub—a networked system.

Participating initiatives

The joint booth features the following future-oriented clusters: CNATM, curATime, ETOS, MCube, nanodiag BW, NeuroSys, Ocean Technology Campus Rostock, PROXIDRUGS, QSense, QVLS-iLabs, SaxoCell, SEMECO, SupplHyInnoRhineland, and ThWIC.

The network is complemented by the research campuses ARENA2036, FEN, Mobility2Grid, and OHLF, as well as the former leading-edge clusters BioM, BioEconomy Cluster, bioRN Life Science Cluster, and elektromobilität süd-west.
