ARENA2036 intensifies cooperation with acatech

Press release

Peter Froeschle appointed acatech senator

The declared aim of the German Academy of Science and Engineering (acatech) and the ARENA2036 research campus is to recognize changes and their opportunities at an early stage and to exploit them in a future-proof manner. The close cooperation between the two institutions was recently further strengthened by the appointment of ARENA2036 Managing Director Peter Froeschle as a member of the acatech Senate.

Peter Froeschle has been Managing Director of the ARENA2036 research campus in Stuttgart for several years and has achieved a great deal during this time. Under his leadership, numerous projects have been realized at the campus that make an important contribution to the future of mobility and production. Froeschle has many years of experience in the development of fuel cell and electric vehicles and knows how to bring industry and science together. Together with well-known companies, he has ensured that innovative technologies such as 5G/6G, artificial intelligence and flexible production systems do not just exist as theory, but are tested and further developed in practical applications.

“I am very pleased to become a member of the acatech Senate and look forward to the close collaboration between our two organizations,” Froeschle emphasized. “Our challenge is to develop initial networks into genuine, closely interconnected ecosystems—platforms on which we can address the pressing issues of our time.”

A first important step in the collaboration between acatech and ARENA2036 is the funding of the Mobility Data Space (MDS), a lighthouse project that aims to improve the interoperability of data spaces. The aim is to make efficient use of the data generated from automotive production and to harness the huge volumes of data generated in modern development and production processes with the help of artificial intelligence. ARENA2036 and acatech see this project as playing a key role in the digital future of the mobility and production industry.

ARENA2036 is pleased to announce the appointment of Peter Froeschle as an acatech senator and looks forward to further joint developments. Close collaboration among institutions, companies, and networks will continue to play a central role in ensuring Germany’s innovative strength and competitiveness in the long term.
