New collaboration on ARENA2036-X
Memorandum of Understanding for pioneering Arena-X project
Hanover, April 18, 2023 - ARENA2036 and SmartFactory-Kaiserslautern signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) today at Hannover Messe Industrie (HMI23) to lay the foundation for their future collaboration. The first step will be joint work on data space. This is based on the previous work of both partners in the context of Catena-X and Asset Administration Shell.
The first joint project to emerge is ARENA2036-X. This will create a demonstration and test environment for data space-based collaboration and value creation. The ARENA2036-X project enables members and partners to test their own use cases and experience the existing technologies in practice - also beyond the automotive industry, particularly in mechanical and plant engineering. The initiative aims to establish the approaches and technologies of Catena-X throughout the industry and thus enable sovereign data exchange in data rooms that also integrate the store floor. Two key technologies, the Asset Administration Shell from the Industry 4.0 platform initiative and sovereign data exchange via data space, play a central role here.
With the ARENA2036-X initiative, the partners want to bring the aforementioned technologies together in one place and create an "easy-to-use" environment for demonstrating, trying out and testing. Automated orchestration processes will support the creation of proof of concepts. In addition, the implementation of a project office will create the basis for the initiation and coordination of joint cross-company projects in an open cooperation network.
The aim of the initiative is to enable the transfer of core technologies from Industry 4.0, Gaia-X and Catena-X for broad application throughout industry. The cooperation network of ARENA2036 members is financed by these companies and is open to other partners.
Further information can be found on the project page.
