Quantum Day at ARENA2036 - a look back at a pioneering innovation forum

ARENA2036 is actively promoting the integration of new fields of technology such as quantum technologies. With this in mind, Quantum Day was organized on 27 May 2025 together with our member Quix Quantum with several keynotes, presentations and workshops. In order to create a basis for disruptive change, the quantum event series was continued with this innovation forum following the quantum seminar with IBM in March.

After a brief welcome by ARENA2036 Managing Director Peter Froeschle, in which the importance of quantum technology on the research campus was emphasized, a keynote speech gave an overview of the work of the Center for Integrated Quantum Science and Technology - with a focus on quantum computing and photonic quantum systems.

After a break with hot and cold drinks, Stefan Hengesbach (CEO Quix Quantum) highlighted the potential of photonic qubits in his presentation "Quantum computing at the speed of light" and explained the role of Quix Quantum in this field. To further emphasize the relevance of the topic, Johannes Verst, CEO and founder of the Quantum Business Network, provided insights into current developments in quantum technologies in society, business and industry.

As a transition to the case studies, Nicola Tyler (Quix Quantum) held a workshop on the basic building blocks of quantum computing. Finally, DXC made a practical contribution to the Innovation Forum with two case studies. Topics such as quantum generative adversarial networks and quantum resilience highlighted specific fields of application for the technology.

Finally, a get-together with food and drink provided space for further discussions and personal exchanges.

We would like to thank all speakers and participants - and look forward to upcoming events on the topic of quantum!
