Press release of the University of Stuttgart

ARENA2036: University and industry under one roof

Excerpt from the press release of the University of Stuttgart from November 18, 2022:

At ARENA2036, Minister Olschowski was given an insight into the research campus, where scientists from the University of Stuttgart work together with experts from industry to research important future topics such as work, mobility and production in the context of digitalization. The focus is also on entrepreneurship and student participation in research projects. The CreatorBox2036 student team presented its fully automated 3D printing system, which anyone can use at ARENA2036. Print jobs can be submitted via a website and production is then started fully automatically on a free 3D printer. Another stop was the Design Factory Stuttgart: an open learning-by-doing platform for industry partners and students to strengthen innovative potential. To this end, learning formats and workshops are offered with the aim of getting to know new innovation methods and formats across organizations.

On site, Minister Olschowski spoke with students from the student representative body stuvus as well as with students who take part in the School for Talents, a program offered by the University of Stuttgart for high-achieving students. There they can get involved in interdisciplinary projects and develop and implement interdisciplinary projects. In this way, the Stuttgart Way, the guiding principle of networked disciplines, is already practiced at the University of Stuttgart during the course of study. Last semester, for example, students implemented their own projects on artificial intelligence and science communication as part of Cyber Valley, Europe's largest AI research consortium.
