Join the Standardization Initiative Wire Harness
Participation of new partners in SILS
SILS is designed as an open consortium in which other companies in the wiring harness industry can join at any time. If you can imagine contributing your experience and ideas to advance the challenging standardization for the automation of wiring harness production, we look forward to your interest and cordially invite you to lend a hand in the sub-projects. On this page we would like to give you more information about how to contact us and what the next steps towards membership look like
Step 1: Information meeting for interested companies
Interested companies should contact the coordination, i.e. the SILS Project Office (see left: Contact Mr. Georg Schnauffer). In a joint meeting, we then explore mutual added value, the expectations of new partners and possible focal points of cooperation in SILS. Here, it is particularly important to determine whether and how the interests coincide with the focal points of the Standardization Initiative Wire Harness.
In addition, we explain the working methods and organization of the SILS, present the sub-projects with the content anchored in them and discuss with you details of the necessary ARENA2036 membership as well as the project contributions. Of course, we will respond to your individual questions. On this basis, a well-founded decision to participate can be made.
Important to know for non-German companies, the working language in all sub-projects is German. Nevertheless, important documents and DIN standard itself can be translated in English.
Step 2: Onboarding process for new partners
Content Onboarding
For its part, the new partner names the experts with whom it would like to participate in the prioritized sub-projects. At the beginning, it makes sense to focus on two or three sub-projects, and participation in further sub-projects is possible at any time. The coordination establishes contact with the sub-project leaders, who then have a conversation with the new members of their sub-project about the current status of the work. On the part of the coordination, the new members of the subprojects are activated for the common MS Teams channel. With the detailed minutes of all sub-project meetings, every new participant can follow the path so far and get started.
Formal onboarding
Participation in the Standardization Initiative Wire Harness requires membership in the research campus. The ARENA2036 is organized as a registered association and provides the framework for cooperation. Membership in the ARENA2036 is an attractive "ticket" to the BMBF's research campus for automotive production and Industry 4.0. Membership opens up numerous opportunities for all technology innovations that benefit from interdisciplinary collaboration.
Joining the Standardization Initiative Wire Harness is achieved by:
- Commissioning of the tender to contribute to the project costs
- Recognition of the ARENA2036 Antitrust Directive
- Accession to the cooperation agreement of SILS
For the contribution to the costs of the Standardization Initiative Wire Harness, each partner bears an equal share. The offer includes all services that the consortium has planned for the current phase and is identical for all partners, both in terms of content and budget.
