Introduction to the sub-projects of the Wire Harness Standardization Initiative (SILS)

The SILS organizes its content-related work in sub-projects (SPs). This structure enables systematic, topic-related development of all relevant standard content - from the design of individual components to digital process mapping.

Below you will find an overview of all sub-projects with their respective focal points.

  • TP0 is responsible for the overall control, quality assurance and preparation of the standardization processes.
  • TP1 defines design guidelines and mechanisms so that automated production and design harmonize.
  • TP2, TP4 and TP5 extend the standards to include specific requirements for low-voltage, high-voltage and high-frequency wiring harnesses.
  • TP7 takes care of the digital product description and data profile standardization in order to provide reliable and interoperable product data.

All sub-projects together should ensure that new and existing performance, safety and efficiency requirements are met.
