TP0 - Control, quality assurance & standard approval
Sub-project 0 (SP0) is the overarching steering and quality assurance body of the SILS. It forms the organizational and methodological backbone of the initiative - and therefore plays a special role: TP0 is not professionally and technically focused, but is anchored in processes and strategy. It ensures that content from the specialist sub-projects is quality-assured, coordinated and incorporated into the standard in a consensual manner.
TP0 has a permanent contact person from each partner company. This means that this committee is not only central in terms of content, but also in terms of communication - because it is the place where all SILS perspectives come together. The sub-project managers are regularly present so that decisions can be fed back directly. This creates a sustainable consensus - between development direction, practicality and normative feasibility.
A central component of TP0 work is the review, discussion and preparation of the design guidelines that are developed from the specialist TPs. This content is reviewed again in TP0, edited and checked for consistency with the overarching objectives of the SILS standard. If changes or clarifications are required, the contributions are fed back to the TPs in a targeted manner. Only after this loop is the content prepared for formal discussion in AK51 - the official standardization committee. TP0 is therefore also the direct line into formal standards work.
In addition, SP0 deals with overarching issues that affect several sub-projects equally. For example, a task force for complete process description has been set up to further develop the system behind production modeling (from development to end-of-line) together with the specialist TPs. A concept for digital component description is also currently being developed, which will form the basis for standardized digital component data sheets.
TP0 is also responsible for all matters relating to the publication of the standard: this includes the final editing of the standard documents, quality assurance of the wording, the collection and coordination of comments and checking for conformity with the DIN specifications - both in terms of content and design. TP0 also manages the processes for the English translation of the standard: feedback and discrepancies from the specialist groups are collected, coordinated and processed in close cooperation with external language service providers. A separate task force has also been set up here.
Last but not least, TP0 is working with the other TPs to develop the target image for version 3 of the standard - particularly with regard to a consistent, complete and connectable description of the processes in automated wire harness production.
TP0 is the organizational backbone of the SILS - it coordinates, tests, harmonizes and connects. It stands for quality assurance, cross-sectional thinking and the transfer to formal standardization.
