Deep Dive
Industrial Metaverse
Contents of the deep dive on the industrial metaverse
Thanks to everyone who attended Ü:MO 2025 on June 26! Together with over 40 guests in the deep dive "Industrial Metaverse real-world laboratory at ARENA2036", we discussed collaborative approaches and current practical and research topics in the industrial metaverse in Stuttgart. In addition to an insight into our work in the real-world laboratory, there were exciting impulses and presentations on specific use cases from our members:
- Communication basis and data source for digital twins: Matthias Jablonowski (Nokia) shed light on the topic from the perspective of network connectivity.
- Cross-company data up-to-dateness: Clarissa Hack (SPIE) and Steffen Kappes (FARO) presented their approach to ensuring up-to-date digital twins.
- Asset connectivity on the store floor: Dr. Frederik Wulle (ARENA2036) and Dr. Colin Reiff (ISW) provided exciting insights into a reference implementation.
- Focus on virtual commissioning: Dr. Stefan Reinhardt (ISG) explained digital engineering in the Industrial Metaverse.
Our stage program was rounded off by a presentation of the diverse points of contact and offers for participation - for all those who would like to benefit from our practical experience and become active in the community themselves.
The Deep Dive was flanked by our stand at the project fair, where we were able to enjoy many exciting impulses and professional exchanges with visitors and guests.
For all those who couldn't be there (or want to take another look): Highlights and photos can be found on the event website!

In the ARENA2036 real laboratory, real industrial applications meet virtual models. The Industrial Metaverse combines simulation, digital twins, virtual commissioning and XR technologies to create a shared environment in which complex processes can be rethought and efficiently implemented.
In our Deep Dive Sessions, we use concrete demonstrations to show how these technologies can already be used today - from virtual robot control and end-to-end process simulations to building twins as the basis for factory planning and facility management. The Deep Dive Session offers in-depth insights, concrete demonstrations and starting points for your own projects.
