Overview

The Wire Harness Transformation Hub sees itself as an enabler for the transformation towards automated production and resilient supply chains in wire harness production by analyzing industry trends, identifying solutions and actively promoting the exchange between business and science - for example through events. As part of the DeepDive format, we address key challenges facing the industry and showcase practical solutions that have emerged from the hub. The focus is on the topics of automation, robotics and sustainability.

As an introduction, the AUDI Q6 e-tron exhibit clearly shows why wire harness production is particularly complex and what potential it offers for automation. Following on from this, we will be presenting the "SILS - Standardization Initiative Wire Harness", a central building block for scalable automation solutions. The aim is to develop consistent standards for wiring harness development and production in order to reduce complexity and increase the level of automation. Another highlight is the Robotics Challenge: it delivers concrete results from practice - from intelligent component handling and multifunctional end effectors to digital solutions for process optimization in assembly. The topic of sustainability is also becoming increasingly important. Among other things, new materials, recyclability and approaches for an energy-efficient, environmentally friendly vehicle electrical system will be discussed.

The DeepDive format not only offers insights into ongoing projects, but also a platform for exchange: companies can dock onto existing activities with their own ideas, technologies or challenges and develop new solutions together.
