The Industrial Metaverse is a fundamental trend that is transforming industry and the world of work in a lasting way. From digital twins and process simulations to AI-driven optimizations: by building on the integration and further development of existing enabling technologies, virtual models are becoming intertwined with real-world optimization and value creation. ARENA2036’s Industrial Metaverse real-world lab uses concrete, practical use cases to demonstrate what is already possible today and offers insights into future development potential. The Deep Dive highlights specific approaches and provides insights into potential implementation steps using practical demonstrators.

Dr. Gor Hakobyan is the CTO of Waveye Inc, a Californian-Swabian company that develops high-resolution imaging radars for robotics. Waveye's products are used in particular in mobile and humanoid robotics to enable safety alongside humans. In his previous role at Bosch, he led research into next-generation automotive imaging radars. Gor has over 100 patent applications in the field of environmental sensing.

Dr. Alexander Achberger ist CEO und Gründer von Haptive sowie Forscher im Bereich Virtual und Augmented Reality mit Schwerpunkt auf haptischem Feedback. Zuvor promovierte er an der Universität Stuttgart und forschte im Virtual Reality Center der Mercedes-Benz AG zu industriellen Anwendungen von Haptik in XR-Systemen. Seine Expertise verbindet wissenschaftliche Forschung mit praktischer Entwicklung in den Bereichen VR, AR und digitale Interaktionstechnologien.

Janet Mazur ist Doktorandin im Virtual Reality Center der Mercedes-Benz AG und forscht an immersiven XR-Technologien für die Fahrzeugentwicklung, unter anderem im Holodeck in der Arena2036. Im Mittelpunkt ihrer Arbeit steht die modulare Validierung von UI- und UX-Konzepten im Fahrzeug mithilfe von XR, insbesondere durch den Einsatz von haptischem Feedback und multisensorischen Interaktionen. Ihre Forschung verbindet HMI, virtuelle Fahrerlebnisse und immersive Nutzererlebnisse und ist Teil des CARpulse Forschungsprojekts.
