Connection to Catena-X
TP11 "Connection to Catena-X" focused on linking the technological building blocks Asset Administration Shell and Eclipse Dataspace Connector (EDC), primarily to enable access management down to attribute level.
As a standardized foundation, VWS enables the creation of digital twins of physical or intangible assets, as well as the structured and semantically describable provision of information throughout the lifecycle. Through integrated mechanisms such as Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) or Attribute-Based Access Control (ABAC), differentiated access concepts for submodels and data points can be implemented.
The EDC in turn provides an interoperable infrastructure for the secure and sovereign exchange of data at a cross-company level. Policies and contract definitions can be used to define and automatically enforce terms of use and access controls along data flows
