Standards and middleware
In TP13 "Standards and Middleware" of the AAS4WH project, solution approaches for the application of industry standards and norms for the description of information fragments in the Asset Administration Shell were developed. The current development status of the OPC-UA Companion Specification for the Wiring Harness industry was presented in order to provide a comprehensive overview of the status of standardization and interoperability in this area.
In addition, existing semantic descriptions, such as the VEC (Vehicle Electric Container), ECLASS and IEC, are checked for their compatibility and added value for the Asset Administration Shell .
Another focus was on the analysis and comparison of already established solutions such as the AAS Designer, Eclipse BaSyx and Mnestix in order to evaluate the possible applications of the Asset Administration Shell (VWS) in industrial practice.
