Asset Administration Shell for the Wire Harness
Development of an interoperable digital twin for the value chain of the wire harness.

Implementation
Existing standards, relevant DIN standards, preliminary work by the Industry 4.0 platform, the IDTA and various associated projects such as "Asset Administration Shell networked" were used as a basis. The design fields in the Asset Administration Shell area, such as architecture, information and capability models, negotiation processes and collaborative data governance, were addressed. The integration of the established industry standards "Wire Harness List" (KBL, PSI-19 / VDA 4964) and "Vehicle Electric Container" (VEC , PSI-21 / VDA 4968) into the Asset Administration Shell was analyzed as a key success-critical point.
The IDTA standardizes submodels for the automation of wire harness production. An OPC UA Companion Specification for the dynamic control of production resources is being developed with the VDMA. BaSyx was used as middleware. The use of administration shells in Catena-X was investigated.
The project-accompanying transfer took place at the Hannover Messe, own events and transformation hubs, in particular Transfer-X and the Wire Harness transformer hub.
